APPRENTICE CARPENTRY CRAFTSMAN-WV PARKWAYS AUTHORITY-RALEIGH CO.

SALARY: $16.62 - $24.49 (hourly)

• Assist with all the aspects of building construction

• Assist with the removal and replacement on concrete slabs and barrier walls

• Assist in painting and staining

• Assist in maintaining buildings

• Flag traffic at worksites

• Loading and unloading supplies

• Moving furniture and equipment

• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

1. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

2. Ability to accept supervision and work well with co-workers

3. Ability to properly operate and maintain Parkway equipment.

4. Ability to work unsupervised.

5. Ability to read basic blueprints.

6. Knowledge in the following areas of the carpentry trade equal to a Carpentry Craftsman.

a. Wood and Metal Framing

b. Concrete forms

c. Concrete finishing

d. Wood and Vinyl siding

e. Asphalt and Metal roofing

f. Window and Door installation

g. Basic Cabinetry and Finish Trim

h. Basic Mason and Tile work

Applicant must have the skills required to drive a scissor bed truck that requires class B commercial driver's license.

Applicant must have the ability to communicate by 2-way radio.

Applicant must have the skills and abilities to use all types of hand tools and power tools according to the carpentry trade.

A Class A/B CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is required for this job. If the employee does not have a Class A/B CDL license they will be placed on a probationary period and given the opportunity to train for and obtain Class A/B CDL license. If the employee cannot pass the exams and obtain the Class A/B CDL license, then he/she will be terminated from this position
