IT Procurement Architect
Role Definition:
The IT Procurement Architect will design technical solutions to enable business processes while performing technology planning and consulting for applications required for Indirect Procurement. Products in the portfolio include NextGen (Coupa), Guided Buy (GEP), Beeline, and Concur. This position will apply deep technology knowledge to achieve business goals and enterprise strategy while minimizing ongoing costs .
The selected candidate will be recognized as the integration expert and will be expected to be a thought leader in how data will flow from procurement applications to the various ERP systems at Caterpillar. They will also be expected to understand purchasing practices and financial standards and apply them to solutions ensuring they meet all business and regulatory needs.
What You Will Do:
Provide technical leadership when procurement applications are deployed .
Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to create technical architecture to implement business processes.
Understand the flow of data and be a subject matter expert of the technologies used (ETL, API, Snaplogic , Snowflake, etc. )
Work closely with project managers to create cost estimates.
Review and approve solutions created by developers.
Provide guidance and coaching to team members on performing upgrades and system improvements.
Work with process partners and project managers to develop implementation plans that minimize the implementation and operational cost of the business.
Step into niche roles as needed to complete project goals.
Understand changes to regulatory laws, then implement changes to systems as needed.
Work with suppliers to implement solutions including Saas based software.
Create documentation required to implem ent architected solutions (data flow, logical architecture, network diagram, etc. )
What You Have:
Four-year bachelors degree preferably in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field
Multiple years of IT experience
Experience in IT Architecture with demonstrated technical proficiency .
Experience with a multi-year and transformation project such as an ERP implementation
Experience with integration technologies such as snaplogic or APIs
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Experience deploying and managing large enterprise solutions.
Experience setting roadmaps.
Designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining software at scale
Top Candidates Will Have:
Knowledge of Caterpillar policies, standards, procedures, and data
Experience in business processes management
Experience with procurement processes
Experience or understanding of financial systems and controls at Caterpillar
Experience with any of the following applications: Coupa, GEP, Beeline
Strong accountability, planning/organization, teamwork, and customer focus
Highly developed interpersonal skills to deal with sensitive, emotional, or potentially controversial situations
Ability to work under pressure and within time constraints

elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
System and Technology Integration: Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to
integrate and communicate among applications, databases, and technology platforms .
System Testing: Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system
testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.

Summary Pay Range:
$126,000.00 - $204,720.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
