A typical day for this position is coming to work at 7:30 a.m., clocking in, team tailgate for daily planned activities, and going to your assigned equipment.

This job includes teamwork to develop future waste placement plans, use GPS and Preventative Maintenance technology, and thrives on having a safe work culture. A weekly rotation of the following tasks is scheduled by the supervisor a month in advance:

Customer Team Responsibilities:

• Operate a Wheeled 950 Front-End Loader to push garbage to the landfill face for compaction.
• Operate a Landfill Compactor to compact waste using GPS technology.
• May work alongside a Spotter/Traffic Controller when balers are down.

Operations Team Responsibilities:

• Drive an Articulated Haul Truck to transport sand from the mining area to the landfill.
• Operate an Excavator to load sand into haul trucks.
• Use a Dozer to spread sand over garbage.
• Operate a Water Truck on windy days for dust suppression.
• Use a Road Grader for internal road maintenance.
• Participate in Litter Collection, particularly from April to September with seasonal staff.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
•High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.).
•Must be at least 18 years of age.
•Minimum of one (1) year of experience performing maintenance work involving the operation of light and medium-size equipment preferred.

Operator II - A minimum of two (2) years of experience performing maintenance work involving the operation of light to heavy equipment.

LICENSING and CERTIFICATIONS
•Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Wyoming Class B Commercial Drivers License with applicable endorsements per assigned division is preferred.
