**SENIOR PROJECT DESIGNER**

The purpose of this position is to provide clear, accurate, and concise design documentation for installation and use of Building Automation Control Systems, typically focused on HVAC controls, based on project specifications, mechanical drawings, and/or sales documentation.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

Creates design drawings including riser diagrams, flow diagrams, material lists, sequence of operations, panel layouts, wiring termination details and equipment schedules.

Create project specific documents including parts order list, packing lists for future shipments, submittals, and operation and maintenance manuals.

Communicate directly with equipment vendors to verify control capabilities or requirements of their products.

Continuous education of new products and innovations in the building automation field.

Performs sizing calculations for control valves and dampers, and similar control devices.

Complete control panel check-out by verifying proper wiring terminations prior to delivery.

Training of other Project Designers.

Coordination with other Project Teams (including Sales, Project Management, Engineering, & Service).

Creation and/or Quality Control of new Design Templates.

Other duties may be assigned.

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**

No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**

Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Design/Engineering Technology orequivalent experience specific to this role.

Experience with HVAC/R design, HVAC/R controls, or related field preferred.

**KNOWLEDGE**

Well versed with HVAC application engineering, design, sequences of operation for electrical circuits and schematics. Must have working knowledge of standard trade industry practices.

Knowledge of computer hardware and software including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Applications, Google Drive, Email, and various other applications.

Able to coordinate and transfer work encountered and results thereof to paper.

Knowledge of computer drafting software, preferably both Visio and/or AutoCAD-LT (2D drawings).

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.

Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition and grammar.

Be able to read and understand HVAC/R and process mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, specifications, etc.

**SKILLS**

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.

Must be able to perform mathematical calculations using formulas and algebraic skills

Material Handling Ability to package small parts or panels and create shipping documentation

Able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime (as needed), and working some nights and/or holidays when requested.

Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for coordinating and setting own project deadlines.

**CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGRISTRATIONS**

A valid drivers license with a good driving record for applicable vehicles, without restrictions, or limiting conditions. (Corrective lenses permitted)

**LOCATION**

**(Remote at home)**

This position is remote, as the employee is usually not within commute distance to a CBRE office. Typically, business day is 7:30 am to 4:30 pm CST. Start and stop times can be shifted through coordination with supervisor and based on time zone where located.

Dress Attire - Business Casual (when on virtual call with camera/video)

Remote Resources are expected to have a location where they can focus on work. They must provide and maintain a reliable internet connection with a minimum of 50 GB download and 10 GB upload speeds

**TRAVEL**

This position typically does not require travel. However, during the initial training, supervisor may direct you to accompany other associates to nearby work sites, typically within a couple hour drive, to see designed components in the field. Usually no more than 1 to 2 times per month.

**HOURLY/SALARIED POSITION (OVERTIME)**

This position is paid hourly, and therefore qualifies for overtime pay, at time-and-a-half, for more than 40 hours worked in a single week.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidates education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the position is $80,000 annually or $38.46 hourly and the maximum salary for the is $90,000 annually or $43.26 hourly. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidates skills, qualifications, and experience.
