Multi-Craft Maintenance Mechanic Job Description Efficiently and effectively provide maintenance support to meet the needs of both internal and external customers while maintaining a safe and clean work environment. Provide technical expertise to support daily operations and achieve significant improvement in production-related objectives. Responsibilities Actively engage with departmental projects, tasks, and objectives. Manage configuration and versions of programmable devices, hardware, and systems including PLCs, vision camera systems, barcode scanners, intelligent sensors and devices, PC-based machine control systems, and SCADA level systems. Perform corrective and preventative maintenance repairs on a variety of electrical, mechanical, electronic, and electromechanical production equipment and building systems. Assist with setup and setup operator activities, installation, and setup of new equipment. Troubleshoot breakdowns of hydraulic, pneumatic, and high voltage electrical systems independently. Work from layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches, drawings, or verbal instructions. Troubleshoot and diagnose CNC equipment, perform maintenance, repair, and calibration on control systems of numerically controlled machines. Conduct operational tests and repair equipment by disassembling components, repairing and/or replacing faulty parts, reassembling, and adjusting equipment. Adhere strictly to safety procedures and critical facility work rules. Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work environment. Complete required safety program objectives and training. Participate actively in cost reduction and continuous improvement programs. Maintain high ethical standards, personal and intellectual integrity, mature judgment, and effective communication at all organizational levels. Essential Skills Experience with electrical, mechanical, and PLC troubleshooting. High School Diploma or GED. 24 to 36 months of trade school or equivalent experience preferred. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form with operators, Team Leads, and Engineers. Ability to work independently with high quality and reliability. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and ability to use a PC and email. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills. Ability to lift 50 pounds manually and repetitively. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with CNC equipment/repair is a plus. Knowledge of proper chemical handling procedures, local codes, cooling systems, and chillers. Work hours are organized into shifts: 1st shift from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, 2nd shift from 2:30 PM to 11 PM, and 3rd shift from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Additional work on Saturdays currently due to the pandemic, but this is not the norm. Employees are expected to wear Hawaiian shirts on Fridays. We have a 3rd shift opening at this time. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Permanent Hire position based out of SMITHFIELD, North Carolina. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $30.00/hr.
