My client is a top notch Design/Build Consulting Engineering firm. They are actively seeking an Electrical Engineer that can be groomed to be the Department Head in the very near future.
What Youll Do
You'll work individually and in teams to support capital projects and implement solutions for our clients. Together, you will help our clients make critical changes to improve their performance and realize their most important goals.
- Deliver power distribution and other facilities architecture/engineering electrical design packages for manufacturing clients
- Use your Power Distribution Expertise to mentor and develop your team. (Knowledgeable in 480V 3-phase power system equipment, configurations and applications. Power distribution, grounding, feeder sizing, cable tray, construction specifications, switchboard and service sizing, connection options and scenarios, power system backup, Life Safety requirements. Minimum projects are generally 2000A and higher at 480V 3-phase. Grounded Wye systems, grounded and ungrounded Delta systems.)
- Use your knowledge of constructability of proposed solutions
- Develop strong relationships within the region and the Architecture/Engineering Process Practice in support of the Architecture/Engineering Process Practice vision
- Assume responsibility for client development, project profiles, strategic project implementation, and organizational planning and leadership
- Mentor, nurture, and develop our BW Design Group professionals
- Develop new electrical engineering engagements and search for new value propositions
- Make an impact day-to-day with your skills and expertise, strengthening that relationship with our clients and team
What Youll Bring
- 12+ years of architecture/engineering facilities electrical design experience
- 3+ three years of experience as an electrical engineering manager for an AEC or A/E firm
- Experience acting as Engineering of Record (EOR). Engaged and design-interactive throughout projects, not just high-level review.
- Experience with the design of low (120V-480V) and medium (2.4kV-35kV) voltage electrical power distribution systems
- Experience with SKM and EasyPower to model electrical power systems and perform short circuit, arc flash, and overcurrent device coordination studies
- NEC Proficiency: A strong working knowledge of the NEC, ensuring compliance in all designs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as AEC industry software such as REVIT, AutoCAD, eTAP, SKM, Visual, Easy Power, ElumTools, BlueBeam and others
- Solid written and verbal technical communication skills including generating reports and conducting group presentations
- Willingness to travel for project requirements including installation and start-up activities, client and company sponsored meetings, trainings, industry related seminars, forums, and conventions
- Bachelor of science in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited institution
- Professional engineer (PE) license
