SERVICE SUPERVISOR

JOB SUMMARY

Assist with service operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Visit job sites and performs quality audits to ensure that route work is being completed efficiently and in a cost effective manner.
  • Perform job audit within 15 days of construction and modernization turnovers, including identifying issues that could potentially affect the overall reliability of the equipment and providing feedback and recommendations for the improvement of future installations.
  • Assist mechanics with jobs, including trouble shooting and providing on-the-job training.
  • Use accounting reports to review route profitability and call backs, including providing feedback, data and reports to management.
  • Take part and assist with safety training.
  • Provide technical input to sales staff on the scope of work and materials needed to bid repair work, including calculating labor and material costs.
  • Provide feedback to service manager prior to field evaluations and performance ratings.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all federal, state and local elevator industry code requirements.
  • Maintain strong familiarity of company products by attending company training classes, and reviewing factory equipment updates and supplier goods, including working with regional field trainers.
  • Determine what materials need to be ordered for service, repairs, and orders parts.

10 Service Route Mechanics This role directly supervises nonsupervisory employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in

accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. All hiring, coaching, performance management and terminations are to be in coordination with HR support and approval.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Bachelors in related
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in related
  • Requires a valid drivers license and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Local Travel Expectations: 25%

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND EXPECTATIONS

Job duties are performed mainly within an established office environment under normal lighting and climate-controlled tolerances. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

When the employee has cause to visit a work site, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and outdoor weather conditions. The noise in the work environment is often loud.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • Requires lifting, positioning, pushing, and/or pulling.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
