MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN - $22-$24/HR. SALEM OR

All Star Labor and Staffing is now looking to hire a Maintenance Mechanic in the Salem area for a local warehouse.

As a Maintenance Mechanic you are responsible for overall maintenance of the production facilitys machinery, and Maintenance of necessary accessories. Maintenance Mechanic assists with routine maintenance of vehicles and general properties. This involves the use of preventive maintenance as well as scheduled and non-scheduled routine maintenance to eliminate or substantially reduce downtime. Serve on the Safety Committee, contribute for identification and correction of unsafe working conditions. Specify equipment requirements, and work with vendors in a professional, effective manner. Perform necessary parts pick-up or other maintenance related functions. Perform duties as assigned. Employee should be available as workload demands. May include other shifts and/or partial shifts.

Must be able to:
Demonstrate working knowledge of welding (all types), boilers, air compressors, and hydraulics.
Knowledge of plant operations and necessary maintenance.
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills to troubleshoot and repair equipment, including pneumatics and hydraulics.
Demonstrate sufficient manual dexterity to effectively utilize screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, nuts, bolts, nails and other small hardware and associated tools as needed.
Able to climb stairs and ladders, as the plant has multiple mezzanines and ladders to access machinery.
Able to tolerate heights, dust, noise, and extreme weather conditions including heat, and cold, rain, sleet, hail and snow.
Able to operate a forklift and be certified by a NIOSH or OSHA approved program.
Able to demonstrate physical ability to operate, cutting equipment, machine tools, and electrical testing equipment.
Able to interact and communicate in a constructive manner with individuals of all ethnic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
Hold a valid drivers license, and have a good driving record, and be insurable.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Minimum two (2) years additional training in a technical program including mechanics, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, concrete, welding, metal Maintenance, drive systems, maintenance of heavy machinery, and automotive repair.
OR
Five (5) years practical experience maintaining all aspects of a plant or production facility, including responsibility for maintenance of machinery, electrical, sensors and control systems.

PAY AND SCHEDULE FOR POSITION:
Swing Shift: 3:00 PM 11:30 PM
(Training on all shifts will be required, and after successful training and agency hours are fulfilled, they would be evaluated for converting to permanent)
Starting wage - $22 24 an hour DOE plus shift differential
