Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Structural Design Engineer to join a growing global company in the Pittsburgh, PA area. This person will be responsible for producing high-quality technical drawings and documentation related to industrial furnaces, piping and melt shop systems. They will use AutoCAD 2D and Autodesk Inventor 3D to create designs, modifications, and integrations of structural furnaces and piping equipment. This candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that design packages meet contractual, safety, and technical requirements for clients across the globe, while adhering to budget and schedule constraints. The ideal candidate will also take on the responsibility of doing additional research surrounding plates, welding, manufacturing, etc. The client is looking for someone that is curious, motivated, flexible and eager to learn and grow.

Skills and Requirements

5-7 years of Structural and Piping Design experience

Experience using design tools like AutoCAD 2D and Autodesk Inventor 3D to conduct structural and piping designs

Experience in designing industrial furnace systems including but not limited to reheating, heat treatment, and smelting.

Associates or Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Design, or equivalent experience.

Experience in Steel Mill Industry or similar

Familiarity with engineering workflows and project lifecycle phases.

Experience working with ERP systems like SAP for materials and drawing integration null
