POSITION TITLE:

Structural Engineer

POSITION DUTIES:

Perform structural design and analysis calculations for both stick framed and truss framed single family and multi- family residential and light commercial projects using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills and experience at the direction of and under the supervision of senior, professional engineers. Layout and detail projects or portions of projects for both gravity and lateral systems. Research new materials and code compliant options. Coordinate with other disciplines to include architecture, Civil, MEP and Component manufacturers. Perform structural design utilizing wood, steel and concrete. Responsible for managing projects in a fast-paced environment.

DEGREE REQUIREMENTS:

Master of Science, Engineering, or Engineering Science degree or the foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field of study.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

Three (3) years of work experience in the job offered, Structural Engineer/BIM Modeler, Structural Engineer I, Project Engineer, Structural Engineer in Training, Structural Design Engineer, Engineering Adviser (Civil), Graduate Research Asst. I, STEM Grad. Teaching Asst., Research Asst., Student Assoc., or related.

OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Two (2) years of experience with all the following: ENERCALC or TEKLA; RISA 3D; AutoCAD; structural building design; IBC; ASCE; and ACI codes. Must have passed Professional Engineer Civil Structural examination for the State of Texas as administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying.
