Holyoke Community College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Coordinator to join our team in ensuring the safety, maintenance, and efficient coordination of all site-related services to be delivered during our workforce development training, which takes place off-campus at William J. Dean Technical High School, aka Dean Tech'. The ideal candidate will have experience directing vocational education services at Dean Tech and a deep commitment to supporting staff and adult students, aka Trainees', alike in the successful planning, execution, and assessment of workforce training program support services. The Site Coordinator will work with HCC's Clean Energy Team, including the Training Managers, Dean-Tech-based Instructors, and Trainees in a manner that meets contracted workforce readiness goals for a grant-funded non-credit Clean Energy / Green Jobs Workforce Training Program. This is a grant-funded position which could be renewed based on continued grant funding.
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Ensure School, Workshop & Classroom Access & Readiness
Coordinate with Dean Tech's custodial team to ensure front entrance and training workshops and classrooms are open prior to class and locked after class Mondays-Thursdays, during program duration.
Coordinate with Dean Tech's faculty and staff to ensure training areas are ready prior to each class; equipment and tool maintenance, laptop cart & presentation display, seating, room/workshop cleanliness, ventilation control, outside area access, etc.
2. Ensure Safety
Review and collaborate on safety measures and emergency procedures with HCC Team.
Ensure all equipment and tools are properly maintained and meet industry standards.
Enforce safety protocols and regulations, including OSHA standards.
Ensure all workshop spaces are up to code.
Ensure First Aid Kits, Eye/Body Wash Stations, Fire Extinguisher/Sprinklers, and other emergency supplies are stocked and well marked.
Ensure OSHA Safety Data Sheets are accessible for any chemicals used in class.
Be available via cell: text/phone during class hours in case of emergency
3. Coordinate Transportation Services
Reserve ride share services based on Trainees' requests submitted via Google Form in a timely manner to ensure rides are available to and from class.
Be available via cell: text/phone in hr leading up and after class to help troubleshoot any transportation issues.
4. Classroom and Workshop Supplies
In collaboration with HCC Team, select and requisition books, online curricula licenses, instructional aides, equipment, instruments, materials, supplies, and parts required while working under established budgets and procedures.
Control the storage and maintenance of materials and property to prevent loss and/or abuse.
Ensure all equipment and tools are properly maintained and meet industry standards.
Enforce safety protocols and regulations, including OSHA standards.
5. Administrative and College Community Responsibilities
Maintain accurate records of all purchases, POs, invoices, etc.
Participate in Workforce Development Team meetings and Orientations on HCC campus.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience for students.
Other Important Functions:
Assess the relevance of supplies, systems, and services and recommend improvements as needed.
Assist in coordinating transportation for Trainees for off-site field trips as appropriate.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Certification
DESE Administrator, Principal/Assistant Principal or VocTech Supervisor/Director licensure;
Masters Degree in Public Administration or related field preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years as a career and technical education director or vocational technical/workforce training site coordinator.
Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of workforce development training, code requirements, and safety practices, in particular with electrical and construction trades, as well as solar photovoltaic (PV) and electric vehicle (EV) charging technology;
Excellent written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills;
Ability to develop and implement effective supply procurement, maintenance and record keeping/accounting;
Proficiency with educational technology and tools related to the electrical and construction trades, as well as solar photovoltaic (PV) and electric vehicle (EV) charging technology;
Ability to coordinate teams/collaborate on-site and remotely;
Experienced team player with the ability to also work independently;
Knowledge of the basic work skills required by employers;
Understanding of the barriers faced by low-income populations, immigrants and refugees, and adult language learners;
Ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student body.
