Position Summary
Masaba Inc. is seeking a skilled and safety-focused Journeyman Electrician to install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment in our manufacturing facility. This role plays a critical part in supporting production uptime and ensuring compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and maintain electrical systems including wiring, conduit, panels, and lighting.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues on machinery, equipment, and facility infrastructure.
- Interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and electrical schematics.
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on electrical components.
- Collaborate with the maintenance and engineering teams to support equipment upgrades and installations.
- Ensure all work complies with national and local electrical codes and Masaba's safety standards.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed.
- Assist with training apprentices or junior electricians when applicable.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Physical Requirements:
- This position is typically in a manufacturing setting and requires standing for long periods of time. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp. Ability to manipulate (carry, lift, move) objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Qualifications
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License (South Dakota or reciprocal state).
- Minimum of 4 years of industrial or commercial electrical experience.
- Proficient in the use of tools and testing equipment such as voltmeters, ammeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
Monday - Thursday, 6:00 AM - 5:00 PM with one hour lunch.
Some additional days may be mandatory
