REGIONAL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Salary Range: $102K to $160K Annually
JOB SUMMARY
The Regional Business Development Manager leads a team of Business Development (BD) Reps to drive specification growth across multiple product lines by executing strategies, managing key customer relationships, and meeting performance targets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership and Strategy
- Develop and execute territory-specific strategies to drive specification growth
- Lead and manage the performance of BD Representatives.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the market presence.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity.
Team Development and Management
- Recruit, train, and mentor BD team members to build a high-performing team.
- Set and monitor individual and team performance goals, including manufacturer spec targets, engineering call objectives, and promotional activities to algin with company objectives.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to drive team success.
- Set and monitor presentation goals for CHC Schoolhouse and Lunch and Learn sessions; guide team members in developing content and engaging customers.
Customer and Manufacturer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with engineers and end-users.
- Collaborate with manufacturers on specification opportunities and project win strategies.
- Act as a liaison between engineering clients and manufacturers to address needs and opportunities.
- Coordinate joint engineering calls with manufacturer personnel and BD reps.
Operations and Reporting
- Leverage Salesforce to track specification performance, customer interactions, and opportunity development.
- Analyze specification data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Monitor and manage team face-to-face (F2F) engineering calls.
- Prepare progress and territory insights reports for the Senior Director of BD, highlighting challenges and achievements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with internal teams - quotes, sales, marketing, customer service, and operations-support sales efforts.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and product launches.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree, or suitable work experience.
Experience:
5+ years' experience in industry, ideally in a manufacturer's rep firm or B2B environment with multiple product lines.
Proven success in driving specification growth within the HVACR industry.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
Strategic thinker with experience managing complex technical processes.
Proficient in Salesforce, Microsoft applications, and manufacturer selection tools.
In-depth knowledge of hydronic, steam, plumbing systems and their application.
Willingness to travel to CHC locations, manufacturers and engineering clients as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry experience related to the represented product lines.
- Knowledge of regional market dynamics and customers.
