Cannon Companies is looking to add new team members to our ISP Communications Division. We are looking for qualified applicants with a telecommunications cabling background. The position will be mainly located in Seattle working on prevailing wage jobs.

Fiber Splicer Technician Requirements:

  • Have a minimum of 2 years' direct experience in the Telecom field.
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment Drug Screening and Criminal Background Check
  • Have a clean driving record and valid Driver's License
  • Be willing to work flexible hours (days/nights)
  • Have a positive attitude and be highly motivated
  • Possess excellent analytical skills and ability to problem solve
  • Ability to distinguish varying fiber colors.
  • Copper slicing experience a bonus
  • This position is a Safety Sensitive Role

Essential Functions:

  • General knowledge of cable installation practices
  • Proficient in fiber terminating, splicing, and testing both inside and outside plant
  • Responsible for the installation, termination, splicing, testing, certification and documentation of fiber optic cabling as well as related fiber optic maintenance activities
  • Telecom certifications are a HUGE plus
  • Ability to read and understand complex prints for fiber slicing and equipment installations
  • Have a desire and ability to support customer needs with strong attention to detail
  • Perform all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and use appropriate safety equipment
