Assistant Head Electrician
Ogunquit Playhouse, Ogunquit, Maine seeks an experienced Assistant Head Electrician for our 2025 Season productions of HIGH SOCIETY, WHEN ELVIS MET THE BEATLES, and TITANIC. We are looking at candidates with immediate availability who would work through to end-of-season (11/9/25).
Ideal Candidate: Must be detail-oriented and remain focused in a fast-paced working environment. Prior theatrical electrician experience is required.
Job Duties/Expectations include (but are not limited to):
- Assist Head Electrician/Lighting Supervisor with execution of lighting plots for each show.
- Execute rigging as designed and supervised by the head electrician.
- Repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of conventional and automated lighting equipment.
- Manage and participate in weekly work calls.
- Assist with rehearsals, load-in, strike, tech rehearsals, and previews.
- Experience with lighting rigs of 200+ units, moving lights, board operation, focusing, projections, and Lightwright 6 + Vectorworks 2018 (or newer) preferred.
- Rigging, ladder work, and lift experience required.
- Assist Head Electrician in documentation and updating paperwork as required.
- Soldering experience required.
- Additional hours running events and Arts Academy Shows.
- Unconventional hours may be required. Must be able to work overnights for Tech Weeks (typically four 12-hr days) for each production.
- In addition to the above responsibilities, AHE will run 8-9 shows/week as lighting console operator (troubleshooting on show calls as needed).
Potential Design Opportunities: Design for one of Ogunquit Playhouse's Arts Academy productions for an additional stipend. Only if interested.
Position is a W2, $21/hr plus O/T and housing included.

Ogunquit Playhouse will now be offering Health insurance to all employees who are with thepany for 120+ consecutive days and work at least 30 hours weekly. Ogunquit Playhouse will cover 75% of employee'spany sponsored Health insurance premium. Dental and Vision insurance will also be available at the employee's expense. Employees who work the Ogunquit Playhouse's entire season will also accrue Earned Paid Leave up to 40 hours. Eligibility is based on the length of the contract. Shortening the length of that contract may affect eligibility.
