The Mill Operator is responsible for overseeing the production of raw materials safely and productively. They will monitor and control all aspects of the milling process, including feeding raw materials into the mill, operating equipment to break down these materials into smaller pieces, and removing unwanted byproducts from the final product. To perform all operations in accordance with established US Silica policies and customer requirements; general manual labor; and related tasks as directed.

The purpose of this job description is to define the role, responsibilities, and authorities of the Montpelier, VA Laborer. Essential Job Functions:

• Inspects, starts, operates, and stops all equipment and machinery in accordance with established limits and procedures.
• Shovels, sweeps, cleans up grounds, loads and unloads trucks and railroad cars, cleans sand spillage with water hose, broom, and shovel.
• Cuts weeds and trees and disposes of debris.
• Washes floors, windows, etc.
• Performs preventive maintenance, operating adjustments and repairs, and lubrication to equipment and machinery as required.

Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• High School Diploma or GED
• There are no prior experience requirements for this position.
• MSHA training is required for all employees and will be provided by the company upon hire.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Good organizational skills. Self-starter.
• Good time management, able to prioritize and control interruptions and stay focused.
• Must be able to cooperate and work with others
