The Construction Site Supervisor is a full-time position, under the direction of the Executive Director, responsible for leading TCHFHs construction production by building new, rehabilitating, and repairing homes. The Construction Site Supervisor oversees skilled and unskilled volunteers and is the most visible and consistent point of contact for homebuyers, volunteers, and community members. As such, they should understand and embrace Habitats programs and principles and be a passionate advocate for Habitats mission. All work crews and individuals on site take their direction from the Construction Supervisor, who is responsible for knowing what work must be done and applying volunteer resources to accomplish that work.
The Construction Site Supervisor will assist the Construction Manager with implementing quality construction plans that meet the needs of homeowners and fit within project budgets and schedules, coordinate and lead on-site building activities in accordance with Habitats mission and standard of excellence, and maintain a professional and enthusiastic attitude on the jobsite.
A successful Construction Site Supervisor will ensure an excellent volunteer experience, understand the techniques and principles of home construction from start to finish, and ensure that all work is done in accordance with approved plans, building codes, and technical and quality requirements of Habitat.
Time Commitment: Full-time, exempt position with work located on job sites throughout Tompkins and Cortland Counties. Occasional evening work may be required (for tasks such as planning/zoning board meetings). Typical weekly work schedule Tuesday Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Saturdays, 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Workday duration can vary based on projects and goals.

Primary Responsibilities and Job Duties:
* Supervise, participate in, and coordinate all aspects of building and rehabilitating homes in an efficient and safe manner, from site preparation to completion. Maintain build schedules, schedule inspections, coordinate and participate in daily sitework and activities, maintain quality standards, and ensure house(s) are completed in accordance with construction drawings and building code, by the scheduled completion date.
* Ensure a safe jobsite always, using Habitats Construction Safety policies, and train volunteers in the safe usage of tools and equipment to prevent both injuries and damage.
* Serve as ambassador for Habitat and its mission by ensuring an excellent volunteer experience. Foster positive relationships and educate, motivate, supervise, and give recognition to volunteers and homebuyers as they work on assigned construction projects.
* Communicate regularly with the Construction Manager regarding build progress; update build schedules and communicate construction and volunteer needs as necessary.
* Plan for each workday to ensure that all necessary resources, material and human, are available to accomplish the days tasks. Manage materials onsite, inspect deliveries, order/acquire materials as needed, and communicate needs ahead of time to Construction Manager. Open the job site each day and make sure it is secured during off hours.
* Work with the Construction Manager to manage subcontractors; contract with and schedule subs as needed, inspect subcontracted work, and ensure subcontracted work adheres to building codes and green building standards.
* Schedule and coordinate inspections as needed (code officers, third-party raters, etc.)
* Ensure that all assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment are securely stored during off hours. Periodically inspect vehicles, tools, and equipment to make certain they are in proper and safe working condition.
* Complete and submit receipts and purchase documents to the Executive Director in a timely manner.
* Take job site photos regularly and upload a daily construction log to Procore.
* Complete final walkthroughs and punch lists upon completion of construction and as required for grant compliance.
* Confirm daily volunteer hours in HelperHelper volunteer management app.
* Address warranty issues and repairs.
* * The primary role of the Construction Supervisor is to oversee and lead, but also to be a member of the team and engage in production work when it does not interfere with instruction or supervisory duties.
Qualifications/Requirements:
* No specific level of education is required but knowledge and experience in all aspects of residential construction/contracting (carpentry, foundations, siding, roofing, finishing, etc.) is a must, along with the confidence in that knowledge to effectively lead and teach others.
* Knowledge of the NY State Building Codes and Tompkins and Cortland Counties local zoning and building regulations as well as green building principles and practices.
* Experience working with planning documents including technical drawings, house plans, etc.
* Ability to coordinate the construction of single-family and multi-family homes with volunteers and sub-contractors, ensuring that all job sites are safe and productive.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at one time.
* Familiarity with computer systems and phone applications including proficiency in Microsoft Office/OneDrive, email, and internet operations; experience using Procore construction management software a plus. Ability to learn and utilize software or technology as required.
* Demonstrate planning and organizational skills including the ability to anticipate tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines, and function smoothly under shifting priorities.
* Strong interpersonal skills including both verbal and non-verbal communication, listening skills, negotiation skills, and problem solving.
* Ability and willingness to work with, schedule, and manage subcontractors on the jobsite.

* Must be a team player and good listener with the ability and patience to teach others. Ability to communicate in a clear, open, and thoughtful manner.
* Required to obtain and maintain Habitat for Humanitys Competent Person safety training certification; OSHA certification a plus.
* Hold or be willing to obtain and maintain a First Aid/ CPR/ AED certification.
* Ability to lift 50 pounds. Work will require climbing ladders and work on roofs and in crawl spaces; considerable time spent standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
* Must pass Criminal Background Check and Sexual Offender Check.
* Clean driving record, valid NY drivers license, able to drive TCHFHs pickup truck and up to 12 trailer.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary $60,000+ depending on qualifications and experience; anticipated 40 hours per week. This position qualifies for health insurance, paid holidays, paid vacation and personal time, and receives legally mandated benefits (such as Social Security, Workers Compensation).
