JOB SUMMARY:
Performs various project work which requires safely operating vehicles and a variety of heavy/agricultural equipment that may include, but not limited to; front end loader, belt press, centrifuge, dredger, spreader box, excavator, terragator, and road tractor.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Always operate truck/equipment in a safe manner.
  2. Ensure that the facility operates within permit compliance, at/above design capability and produces high quality product at all times. Complete daily driver vehicle inspection report (DVIR’s)
  3. Initiate emergency procedures, when conditions warrant, to ensure personnel safety and to prevent damage to plant and equipment.
  4. Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required including entrance into confined space areas for general cleaning and inspections. Document and report any malfunctions or unsafe conditions
  5. Enforce and maintain standard safety procedures as well as perform any general work or other assignments necessary to ensure the safe, clean and efficient operation of the facility to include sweeping, shoveling and other housekeeping activities
  6. Process all material in a safe, effective timely manner for hauling to appropriate location and in compliance with all company, federal, state and local regulation/policies
  7. Perform loading, unloading, and timely delivery of material to assigned/approved destination.
  8. Travel from job site to job site or plant to job site. May involve overnight travel.
  9. Clean bio-solids off truck/equipment before leaving the field site or landfill.
  10. Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public.
  11. Conduct daily inspections and perform preventative maintenance on the truck/equipment.
  12. Maintain operation records.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  1. Ability to clean equipment inside and outside daily and perform clean up prior to any public road travel
  2. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public
  3. Effectively communicate verbally and in writing
  4. Ability to work varying shifts, overtime hours and/or weekend duties
  5. Understand and follow instructions given, either verbally or written
  6. Ability to do basic reading, writing and arithmetic
  7. Ability to operate heavy or agricultural equipment in a safe manner.
  8. Ability to perform basic math.
  9. Efficiently operate and use smart phone.
  10. Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  11. Ability to follow directions.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Talking, Hearing, Seeing
  2. Standing, Sitting, Walking, Crawling, Reaching, Crouching, and Lifting up to 100 lbs
  3. The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and out.
  4. The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
  5. The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to bio-solids.
  6. The worker is subject to vibration: Exposure to oscillating movements of extremities or whole body.
  7. The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
  8. The workers frequently are in close quarters, crawl space, shafts, manholes, small, enclosed rooms, small sewage and water line pipes, and other areas which could cause claustrophobia.
  9. The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to bio-solids.
  10. This position requires at least travel (75%) and overtime.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  1. Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) with strong mechanical aptitude required
  2. Valid drivers’ license, CDL preferred.
  3. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude preferred
  4. Strong experience with agricultural equipment preferred
  1. Computer utilization and ability to comprehend and interpret blueprint drawings and documents preferred
  2. Minimum 2 years of project work experience is preferred.
  3. Minimum 3 years’ commercial driving/heavy or agricultural equipment experience preferred.
  4. Safe driving record: No serious tickets or accidents in last 5 years or DWI/DUI in last 10 years.
