EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
Description
As an equipment operator for Monterra, the safety, quality and timeliness of your work are of primary importance. You are required to operate with competence and possess all relevant training and qualifications to operate machinery. Equipment includes, Skid Steer, Excavators, Loaders, Bobcats, Dump Truck and other related equipment, as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities
Punctual towards work, arriving on site and ready to commence work at time specified by supervisor
Pay attention to surrounding environments; make sure that work area is clean and safe before and after starting a new task
You are required to inform the supervisor when there is an error or omission noticed in your workmanship or that of others.
Ensure machines are kept clean, well-greased and lubricated
Check fluid (fuel, oil, hydraulic etc) levels before and after operating
As an operator, you alone are responsible for your surroundings. Please take the time to observe and understand surrounding before commencing a given task
Ensure the safety of those around the operation of machines by enforcing the use of safety equipment such as hard hats and Viz-vests
You are required to adhere to instructions given by Monterra Management (unless you feel it is unsafe)
Safe Loading & Unloading: Follow proper procedures for transporting equipment between job sites.
Excavation Safety & Trenching Best Practices: Follow safety regulations for trench depth, slope, and soil stability.
Skills and Specifications
The person needs to have necessary physical stamina and the ability to do the job
The person needs to be comfortable and have substantial experience or be under the supervision of someone with substantial experience to operate any equipment.
You are considered to be part of the Monterra Team and therefore expected to adhere to the guidelines set in place
Use extreme caution during his or her work to avoid injury of others and oneself
The person should have the ability to work with powered construction tools, equipment, and machinery as well as using all appropriate safety regulations
Strong Situational Awareness: Ability to assess risks and adjust operations accordingly.
Precision Control of Equipment: Skilled in operating machinery with accuracy in tight spaces.
Knowledge of Load Limits & Equipment Capabilities: Preventing overloading or damage to machinery.
