Job Title: BESS Project Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic BESS Project Manager to oversee multiple projects across the United States and Canada, ensuring efficient coordination and execution. This role involves critical coordination of highly matrixed project development teams to ensure resources are focused on the right activity at the right time to meet project schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with environmental, regulatory, cultural, land acquisition, and interconnection teams to ensure all project variables are identified and incorporated.
  • Develop the project's technical scope and optimize project variables to improve both technical and financial feasibility.
  • Support origination and development teams with PPA and GIA negotiations and jurisdictional needs.
  • Coordinate engineering, estimating, and procurement requirements, supporting the E&C engineering team with technical attributes for design development.
  • Support the E&C cost estimating team for development of financial models, actively seeking out market data to ensure financial model health.
  • Present and manage the financial model through executive budget approvals.
  • Competitively source, negotiate, and execute commercial contracts for critical services such as geotechnical, survey, engineering, and EPC/PC construction services.
  • Uphold and represent E&C's interests on assigned projects, engaging in various software applications to manage critical data and deliverables.
  • Support process improvements and efficiency initiatives to scale for growth.
  • Actively communicate and interface with Executive Leadership, Suppliers, Regulatory Agencies, Local Communities, and other stakeholders.
  • Present project progress and risk mitigation strategies in meetings with various management levels.
  • Ensure projects moving to the Construction stage can be turned over to the Construction Project Manager with an inclusive and executable construction plan.

Essential Skills

  • Excellent project management, communication, financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Finance/Accounting.
  • Experience in related engineering and construction of renewable energy projects.
  • Experience with electricity markets, renewables, and/or battery projects.
  • PMP Certification and advanced Excel skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in BESS, Renewable Energy, Solar Battery Storage, and Renewable Battery Storage.
  • Utility sector knowledge.
  • Preferred past experience in roles such as Preconstruction PM, Sales Engineer, Applications Engineer, Project Engineer, Development Manager/Engineer.

Work Environment

Candidates may work onsite or remotely, with occasional travel required to project locations and local public hearings. Training will take place early on at the headquarters in Juno Beach.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $70.00/hr.
