SCB is seeking talented Junior to Intermediate Designers/Architects to join our Chicago office. We're a national, multi-disciplinary design firm with a local focus on multi-family residential, academic, and aviation projects.

We're looking for individuals who are passionate about design, collaborative by nature, and possess a basic to intermediate understanding of building materials, systems, detailing, and construction methods. You'll work alongside a team of dedicated professionals during all phases of project development.

The Role

We're hiring several team members to contribute to exciting projects across the country. Responsibilities include:

Working on foundational aspects of projects under the direction of an Architect or senior staff, across all project phases

Supporting the development of design and technical drawings, visualizations, and studies as directed by project leaders

Assisting with design, drafting, rendering, and the creation of digital and physical models

Understanding the overarching project design philosophy in executing your work

Managing time and organizing tasks effectively to meet project deadlines

Collaborating with team members and communicating clearly with internal and external stakeholders

Demonstrating knowledge of building materials, construction systems, detailing, and basic construction methods

Applying basic zoning, building, and accessibility codes to assigned work

Seeking guidance when needed, while also showing initiative in problem-solving

Supporting the project and studio team with a positive, team-first attitude and a willingness to learn

Your Qualifications

Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program

0-10 years of post-graduate architectural experience

Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD

Familiarity with tools such as Enscape, SketchUp, Rhino, Grasshopper, 3ds Max, and Adobe Creative Suite

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Salary: $64,000 - $110,000, commensurate with experience
