Peak is seeking an Estimator in the Georgetown SC area. We are seeking a detail-oriented candidate who is looking for a great opportunity with a solid and secure company.
The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely cost estimates for projects, helping the company assess the feasibility and profitability of new opportunities. This includes analyzing drawings and specifications, soliciting vendor quotes, and coordinating with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams.
Our client is the leading provider of slide bearings for bridges, buildings, equipment and pipelines. These bearings consist of PTFE slide plates, pot bearings, disc bearings, spherical bearings, bronze bearings and elastomerics.
Primary Responsibilities
Interact with customers, contractors and engineers to determine what best suits their needs.
Analyze project drawings, specifications and other documents in order to provide detailed material take-offs.
Provide pricing for raw materials. Candidate will work with vendors, as needed, to obtain specialty material pricing.
Adhere to internal and external deadlines and project bid dates.
Analyze project blueprints, specifications, and related documents to develop detailed and accurate estimates.
Solicit and review vendor and subcontractor quotations to support pricing.
Participate in pre-bid meetings and client walkthroughs when required.
Adjust and update estimates based on changes in scope or specifications.
Required Skills:
2+ years of experience in reviewing and analyzing structural drawings for construction.
Experience in estimating (construction, mechanical, electrical, or civil)
Ability to effectively communicate with team members, customers, contractors, engineers and vendors.
Ability to pay close attention to detail in order to provide accurate material takeoffs and material pricing.
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel plus be familiar with estimating software
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Qualifications:
Experience or degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
