We are seeking a **P&A Well Site Manager** to join our Bakersfield, CA team! Come join us!
**Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:**
+ Manage day-to-day well site operations for plugging and abandonment projects.
+ Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and regulatory agencies to ensure timely and compliant execution.
+ Supervise rig-up, rig-down, cementing, and wellbore isolation procedures.
+ Ensure all operations comply with CalGEM regulations, Kern County Chapter 19.98 zoning ordinances, and applicable federal environmental laws.
+ Prepare and submit required documentation, including daily reports, incident logs, and final abandonment reports.
+ Lead daily safety meetings and enforce site-specific safety protocols.
+ Monitor for H2S and other hazardous conditions; ensure emergency response plans are in place.
+ Oversee site remediation and equipment removal in accordance with reclamation standards.
+ Direct and evaluate field crews, service providers, and subcontractors.
+ Manage scheduling, equipment mobilization, and material procurement.
+ Maintain accurate cost tracking and budget adherence.
**Minimum requirements:**
+ Location: Must be local to Bakersfield, California.
+ Bachelors degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field (preferred). Equivalent field experience may be considered.
+ Minimum 7 years in oilfield operations, with at least 3 years in plugging and abandonment or well intervention.
+ Proven leadership in managing multi-disciplinary teams in remote field environments.
**Technical requirements:**
+ Strong understanding of wellbore integrity, cementing practices, and abandonment engineering.
+ Familiarity with California-specific environmental and regulatory frameworks.
+ Excellent communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
+ Proficiency in digital reporting tools and field data systems.
**Other miscellaneous qualities:**
+ Well Control Certification (e.g., IADC or IWCF).
+ H2S Safety, First Aid/CPR, and PEC/SafeLandUSA training.
+ CalGEM compliance training (preferred).
