Responsibilities- Implements systems for managing infrastructure or projects.
- Design, develops, implements technical systems.
- Recommends alterations to design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.
- Performs work under general supervision.
- Handles moderately complex issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
- Provide testing, inspection, field changes, repairs, and technical support for Interior Communications Systems.
- Independently plans and accomplishes projects assigned.
- Serves as an expert in the announcing field.
- Conducts testing on announcing and other relevant electrical equipment.
- Responsible for conducting mechanical/electrical/electronic quality assurance to verify conformance to operational and performance criteria.
- Conducts site surveys and prepares reports (daily, weekly, monthly, trip).
- Makes decisions in situations where standard engineering methods and procedures may not be applicable.
- May coordinate logistics, scheduling, material shipments, and travel arrangements for installation teams on assigned tasks.
- Carry out project plans in making sure deliverables are completed correctly and on time.
- Maintains configuration controls and tracks project government furnished equipment.
- Participates in internal projects as required by management.
- Ability to travel 30% to CONUS or OCONUS for ship support.
Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret clearance required.
- Requires electronic troubleshooting and installation experience.
- Requires BA and/or Military Electronic background and 2-4 years.
- Possesses solid working knowledge of subject matter.
- Ability to resolve problems involving Interior Communications Systems.
- Strong knowledge on announcing systems, to include system operations and troubleshooting and speaker ground, short and open testing, end-to-end performance as it relates to Interior Communications Systems.
- Able to read and interpret block, elementary, and isometric wiring diagrams.
- Strong writing, editing, interpersonal, and communications skills.
- Strong knowledge in use of hand tools and test equipment for use in trouble shooting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Desired Qualification:
- BS in engineering or Military Class A, B or C school in a related technical specialty is a plus.
