McGill Restoration is now seeking an Estimator/Project Manager to join our team! The Estimator will bid, capture, and manage specific dollar amounts of profitable work in our target markets and industries. A successful candidate will be able to balance their time between all duties and responsibilities to perform effectively within the team. This position requires a strong blend of technical knowledge, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop Comprehensive Project Estimates - Prepare detailed budgets and project cost estimates for restoration projects, including concrete repair, coatings, masonry, and structural work; ensuring alignment with project specifications
- Manage Project Lifecycle - Oversee project timelines, budgets, and material procurement from initial bid through completion, ensuring deliverables are met on schedule and within budget
- Foster Strong Client and Vendor Relationships - Cultivate relationships with current clients through phone, email, and face-to-face contact; visit job sites as necessary to create and maintain connections with customers and vendors
- Conduct Thorough Site Surveys and Estimations - Perform on-site project assessments to gather critical data for precise estimating, and submit competitive bids supported by detailed budgets and scopes of work
- Drive New Business Opportunities - Actively seek and develop new project leads through sales calls, networking, and participation in marketing initiatives, contributing to business growth
- Coordinate with Operations Teams - Collaborate closely with the Operations team to schedule project start and completion dates, ensuring seamless project handoffs and alignment with field teams
- Monitor and Review Project Performance - Conduct site visits during construction to assess performance against initial estimates, gather insights to improve the accuracy of future bids
- Ensure Accurate Billing and Documentation - Prepare and submit accurate invoices to customers and coordinate vendor payments, maintaining comprehensive financial records for each project
- Participate in Team Meetings - Engage in regularly scheduled meetings to review project statuses, share insights, and contribute to team development and company goals
- Flexibility with Work Hours - Commit to working beyond standard office hours as necessary to meet project deadlines or client needs
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree required, preferably in Construction Management
- 3+ years experience in estimation and project management, specializing in construction, concrete restoration, concrete services, or similar role
- Exceptional customer service skills
- High accuracy in work and attention to detail
- Experience with budget management, preferred
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills essential for communicating with clients, colleagues, and other important stakeholders
- Proficient with computers, email, and Microsoft Office
- Familiarity with project management software and cost estimating tools
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications
- Ability to demonstrate leadership and prioritization skills whether in the field or in the office
- High accuracy in work; attention to detail
- Possession of a valid driver's license
- Ability to travel as needed for current projects and opportunities
- Ability to travel to Omaha 3-4 times per week during initial 90 day training period
