Maintenance Electrician**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Electrician to join our team. This role involves working with old Allen Bradley PLCs, troubleshooting at the component level, and understanding how these systems operate. The position includes an extensive preventative maintenance program and managing breakdown situations across various machinery and equipment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Set up, operate, maintain, and debug automated CNC, PLC, and computer-controlled equipment or processes.
+ Perform diagnostic procedures and testing to resolve equipment or process problems.
+ Conduct diagnostics down to circuit board level, understanding E-PROMs, solid state power supplies, UPS systems, software, and ladder logic.
+ Use portable and onboard computers for data entry in response to error messages or process interruptions.
+ Act decisively to prevent or minimize downtime.
+ Make repairs and perform routine and preventative maintenance using engineering drawings, blueprints, diagrams, layouts, and instructions.
+ Install branch circuits, conduit, switches, starters, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls.
+ Repair and rebuild various machinery and equipment, including hydraulic pumps and motors, electrical motors, gas engines, mechanical and electrical equipment, jibs, hoists, cranes, tools, and fixtures.
+ Install, repair, and transport new equipment, ensuring it remains in good operating condition.
+ Perform repairs to structures, heating systems, air conditioning systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, machines, motors, plumbing, etc.
+ Conduct preventative maintenance on equipment, systems, and machines according to prescribed schedules.
+ Assist in the orientation and training of operators, maintenance personnel, and supervisors.
+ Weld materials as needed for repairs and maintenance.
+ Instruct and assist other maintenance workers.
+ Comply with all safety policies and procedures and participate in zero harm safety culture initiatives.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in troubleshooting electrical maintenance, PLCs, and motor control.
+ Ability to use micrometers, scales, protractors, recorders, and other tools.
+ Understanding of complex circuit diagrams, electrical schematics, printed circuit boards, and power supplies.
+ Thorough knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, air logic, and safety interlock systems.
+ Ability to use multi-meters and current probes to diagnose AC/DC and low voltage circuits, transistors, capacitors, and diodes.
+ Knowledge of mathematics, including geometry, for equipment setup, operating tolerances, and calculating electrical loads.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Arc Flash Training completion initially after hiring and every three years.
+ Ability to work under minimal supervision.
+ Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
+ Proven attendance record of very good.
+ Willingness to work overtime, including weekends and holidays.
