The Mission of ELMHS is to provide mental health evaluation, treatment, habilitation and consultation for adults. Programs include inpatient interventions, jail based evaluations, supervised group home and residential programs, forensic evaluation, care, custody, and aftercare; intermediate and long term psychiatric are in coordination with the total system of care in Louisiana.

ELMHS is looking for a motivated individual to join the Maintenance department as an Electrician Specialist Foreman with knowledge in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems ranging from low voltage to 13.2 kilovolts.

Division : Within the Maintenance Department at ELMHS Located in Jackson, LA

Two years of the required experience for the following minimum qualifications must have been on-the-job experience: Four years of experience or training in the electrical trade, two years of which must have been working with specialized systems such as high-voltage distribution lines, power plants, or heavy, high-voltage mechanical or industrial equipment, or with electrical or electronic systems such as traffic signals.

Job Duties:

In this role, you will:

  • Direct and supervise subordinates in the maintaining, repair and installation of electrical system from low voltage up to 13.200 Volts.
  • The installation or repair of service lines and main disconnects for buildings.
  • Evaluate electrical capability of individual systems throughout facility.
  • Installation and maintenance of circuit breakers, wiring, switches, receptacles and lighting.
  • Replace or repair of electric motors from 1/8 HP to 100 HP motor including the installation or repair of wiring, conduit, switch gear, disconnect panels, circuit breakers, magnetic contractor, controls and control voltage.
  • Responsible for directing the maintaining and repairing of generators for emergency service from the generator to its designated point.
  • Directs and assists in maintaining electronic locks to include circuit boards, relays and indicators.
  • Performs preventive maintenance rounds on all buildings checking for loose wires, checking receptacles for tension and condition, make sure that they function properly.
  • Maintain a valid, unencumbered drivers license.

Compensation:

  • This position is eligible for a $2.00 Weekday On-Call pay and a $2.10 Weekend/Holiday On-Call pay.
