Incumbents of the Electrician position have averaged $133,000/year (This figure does include bonus)

Hourly Rate/Salary Range: $17.43 - $22.25/hour plus production bonus (This figure does not include bonuses)

Bonus Type: Production Bonus

Production positions are paid a base hourly rate along with a production bonus which is calculated based on the amount of quality tons produced and paid weekly.

Nucor Steel Kankakee, Inc is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Electrician. This position works a 12-hour rotating shift.

Primary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

Developing the necessary knowledge and tools to successfully maintain and improve the equipment and processes of our division

Assisting with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mill equipment including, but not limited to: AC/DC drive units, PLC's, HMI's, and overhead cranes

Providing support to the maintenance and operations team

Developing and promoting safe work practices for maintaining plant equipment

Applying technical knowledge to solve problems with plant equipment

Taking care of our customers by executing the division's safety, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability objectives

High school diploma or GED

Completion of a diploma, a degree, or certification program in the electrical field, or two years of electrical maintenance experience including PLC's, VFD's, and controls

Previous industrial electrical maintenance experience

2 or 4 year degree in Electrical Technology/Engineering
