Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Pipefitter 1st Class located in New Brunswick, NJ.

The Pipefitter 1st Class is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and waste disposal. Also handle fixtures, appliances, and related equipment, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installing and connecting pipes, fixtures, and appliances for water, waste, and gas systems in commercial buildings.
  • Performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on plumbing systems to prevent issues and ensure functionality.
  • Diagnosing and fixing problems like leaks, clogs, and low water pressure in commercial plumbing systems.
  • Ensuring all plumbing work adheres to local building codes and safety regulations.
  • Collaborating with contractors, electricians and other professionals on construction and renovation projects.
  • Choosing and procuring appropriate plumbing materials and equipment for specific projects.
  • Interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to understand plumbing layouts and specifications.
  • Adhering to strict safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries on job sites.
  • This is a union position, Workers United, affiliated with SEIU Local #630.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED; preferred certification or training via a community college, trade school or apprenticeship program
  • A minimum of 2 years of commercial plumbing experience is preferred.
  • New Jersey Plumber's License is preferred
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Strong understanding of plumbing systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in tight spaces.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve plumbing problems effectively.
  • Ensuring accuracy and precision in all plumbing work.
  • Effectively communicating with clients, contractors, and other team members.
  • Prioritizing safety and following safety protocols.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

$ 42.96 per hour.
