PROVIDER CONTRACT COORDINATOR MANAGER

The current hiring base salary range for this role is:

$82,262 - $92,545/year

UCare anticipates paying within the above-references salary range for this position. The actual base salary offer for this position will be determined by a variety of components including but not limited to work experience, education, certifications, location of the role, internal equity, and other relevant factors.

LOCATION: Minneapolis, MN (Office for your Day or Work from Home)

Position Description

As the Provider Contract Coordinator Manager, you will be responsible for leading UCare's provider Contract Coordinator team to meet departmental and organizational goals related to management and execution of provider contracts. You will oversee provider contract intakes, contract preparation and execution, contract tracking, maintenance of contract records and files, as well as the contractual processing of provider demographic changes. Ensure all tasks are performed in accordance with regulatory and operational standards. You will manage strategic projects and special initiatives and are responsible for ongoing development and maintenance of the contract management software systems and programs.

  • Recruit, coach, mentor and oversee a high-performing team of professionals to effectively manage provider contracts, on-line forms, group mailboxes, work queues, facility grids and related systems, including both UCare and BPO related contracting activities.
  • Ensure providers entering UCare's contracted networks meet all UCare and regulatory standards.
  • Manage the use of approved contract templates and processing of executed agreements. Ensure contract terms are accurately translated into the provider agreement and that executed contracts are sent for loading and set-up in a timely manner. Implement and maintain an audit program for team to ensure documented performance standards are met.
  • Assist in identification, development and execution of new contract policies and procedures. Coordinate operational and workflow changes, to improve processes and maximize team efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Provider Relations and Contracting Director to ensure contracts meet legal and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as a department lead/owner of the Service Now Provider Contract Management (PCM) system. Manage workflows to optimize document storage, contract processing, communication and routing capabilities. Ensure optimal use of program to promote efficiency and accuracy, including the eventual roll out of the system to other internal teams and/or the inclusion of additional processes within the workflow. Serve as a subject matter expert for system reporting. Track, test and coordinate system fixes, improvements and enhancements. Serve as the PRC liaison to the IT department, as it relates to PCM.
  • Develop and manage monthly, quarterly and annual departmental metrics for the Provider Contract Coordinator team and support attainment of individual and departmental goals.
  • Manage staff productivity standards. Monitor request volumes and staff workloads on an ongoing basis, to ensure balanced team assignments and prompt resolution of open items.
  • Participate on assigned UCare committees and work groups to represent departmental interests and support projects. Regularly engage department staff to meet committee and project objectives.
  • Support company and department strategic and operational efforts, including new product implementations, service area expansions and internal/external audits.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree in health management, operations or related field; demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Required Experience

Five years of experience in health delivery setting, health insurance, HMO or community service agency. Experience with network strategy, process management and contracts. Demonstrated ability to successfully work in matrixed/cross-departmental environment. At least two years of staff supervisory/management experience. Experience with workflow creation and process improvement identification/implementation.

Preferred Experience

Previous involvement with Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance programs/products, either from the provider or payer perspective. Knowledge of regulatory requirements, as it relates to provider contracting and record retention. Experience with the Service Now platform.
