Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Custom Woodworking Fabricator. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for craftsmanship and a strong understanding of traditional and modern woodworking techniques. The successful candidate will fabricate high-quality, custom wood pieces for residential, commercial, and specialty projects. If you take pride in producing beautiful, functional, and precise woodwork, we'd love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
Custom Fabrication: Cut, shape, assemble, and finish custom wood pieces using specifications, blueprints, and design drawings for items such as cabinetry, furniture, doors, and architectural details.
Material Selection: Select suitable wood species, veneers, and finishes based on functionality, appearance, and project requirements.
Precision Cutting & Joinery: Operate hand tools and woodworking machinery (e.g., table saws, routers, sanders, CNC routers) to execute complex joinery with accuracy.
Quality Assurance: Review all pieces for quality, craftsmanship, and alignment with design intent.
Tool Maintenance: Maintain tools and machinery in safe, working condition through regular inspection and cleaning.
Collaboration: Coordinate with designers, project managers, and other fabricators to ensure smooth project execution and meet deadlines.
Problem Solving: Troubleshoot fabrication issues and offer creative solutions to design or build challenges.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 3 years in custom woodworking or cabinetry fabrication.
Technical Skills:
Proficient with hand and power tools, woodworking machines, and CNC equipment.
Skilled in joinery methods including dovetail, mortise and tenon, biscuit, and dowel joints.
Ability to read and work from technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
Knowledge of wood properties, adhesives, stains, and finishes.
Attention to Detail: Commitment to precision and high-quality craftsmanship.
Physical Requirements: Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for extended periods, and performing physically intensive tasks.
Communication: Strong verbal communication and ability to work well in a team environment.
Time Management: Ability to manage tasks efficiently while meeting project timelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification or formal training in woodworking, carpentry, or cabinetry.
CNC machine operation and programming experience.
Previous leadership or mentorship experience in a fabrication environment.
