HVAC Technician

Akkodis is seeking an HVAC Technician for a contract job with a client in Van Nuys, CA. Responsibilities include conducting preventative inspections and escalating complex issues to supervisors. Rate Range: $20/hour to 30/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. HVAC Technician job responsibilities include: Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration units in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. Inspect and diagnose system issues using specialized tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency. Perform routine preventative maintenance such as cleaning coils, changing filters, and checking refrigerant levels. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to guide installation and repair work. Ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes, and document all work performed accurately. Communicate effectively with clients and team members to explain issues, recommend solutions, and provide excellent customer service. Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HVAC technical training program preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair. EPA Section 608 Certification for handling refrigerants.
