The NCDAC / Support Services / Division of Engineering, Construction, and Maintenance (DECM) is recruiting for anenergized and collaborative HVAC Technician โ ACE Team (HVAC Mechanic I), to be a part of the Construction Apprenticeship Program (CAP) Team installing air conditioning in NCDAC Institutions. This position will be a part of the ACE (Air Conditioning Experts) Team and tasked with completing HVAC Force Account construction projects systeminstallations.
A successful candidate for this HVAC Technician โ ACE Team (HVAC Mechanic I) position, shall have journeyman level experience in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems, equipment, and machinery; beable to work independently to complete work assignments received by a supervisor; read and interpret blueprints; andperform other assigned duties.
This position will have an assigned duty station as their permanent home address and will be assigned a State-ownedvehicle for business use only. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits. The work schedule isMonday โ Thursday and may require some weekend work and overnight travel to meet the demands of the organization.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
- Demonstrated experience in the installation, maintenance, AND/OR repair of heating, ventilation, AND/OR air conditioning equipment, including but not limited to chillers, air handlers, pumps, ventilators, fans, boilers, piping, mini splits, etc.
- Demonstrated experience with the tools, methods, practices, materials, and equipment used within the engineering construction trades relating to the maintenance of buildings.
- Experience with reading schematics and blueprints.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
- High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and three years of progressive experience in the installation, maintenance or repair of air conditioning chillers, air handling, chilled water distribution and control systems; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Necessary Special Qualifications Requires current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations part 82, subpart F.
