Arita Poulson General Contracting, LLC, a locally owned and operated construction company, is currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing complex estimates for commercial construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Interpret and analyze construction plans, specifications, and project documents.
* Develop and maintain accurate cost estimates using industry-standard estimating software.
* Construct and manage Schedule of Values (SOV) spreadsheets aligned with CSI codes and cost categories.
* Prepare detailed scopes of work based on project documentation.
* Perform material quantity take-offs and secure vendor/supplier quotes, including delivery and lead times.
* Estimate labor requirements for self-performed work.
* Prepare bid packages and distribute RFQ's to subcontractors and vendors.
* Manage receipt and evaluation of bids, including qualifying and leveling subcontractor quotes.
* Draft project schedules and bid qualification proposal letters.
* Participate in pre-bid site visits, bid closings, and project hand-off meetings.
* Maintain well-organized documentation of all estimates, quotes, and take-off records.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
* 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, project management, or related fields.
* Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and procurement processes.
* Familiarity with construction finance, accounting principles, and contract law.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software (e.g., On Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, Planswift).
* Experience with estimating programs such as Safe Estimating, HCSS, and Win-Est.
* Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
* Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
