Job DescriptionPosition: Foreman
Reports To: Primarily answers directly to the supervisors. May take direction from other supervisors or managers if a potentially dangerous situation exists or the foreman has been informed of other supervisory measures due to special circumstances (special project, high work load, etc.).
Pay Type: Hourly position, Overtime after 10 or 40 hours, holiday and weekend overtime.
Primary Activities;
Meet with the supervisor daily to discuss, review and receive direction concerning;
- Current and future work schedule.
- Current and future work assignments.
- Project documents (drawings, process checklists, etc.).
- Material and consumables requirements.
- Tool & equipment requirements.
- Manpower requirements.
Meet with employees at least daily, or as needed, to address, assign, or correct;
- Daily tasks, procedures, and production expectations.
- Production issues (manpower, tooling, equipment).
- Safety issues (employee compliance, equipment, documents).
- Quality issues (weld, mechanical, tooling, and equipment).
- Other policy issues (phone use, breaks, work shift, radios, workplace abuse).
Continually monitor employee performance in the areas of production, safety, quality and other policies to ensure;
- FASTCO Corporation procedures and techniques are used.
- Proper tooling is used.
- Proper equipment is used.
- Adequate documents or drawings are available.
- Tasks are on schedule.
Continually monitor, maintain, organize and track;
- Materials (raw stock, weld wire, paint, paint waste, sand blast shot, ).
- Tooling (grinders, drills, taps).
- Consumables (grind discs, cut off wheels, portaband blades, soapstone).
- Safety equipment (respirator cart, dust masks, face shields, safety glasses).
Maintain the following documents;
- Daily time sheets.
- Daily job notes.
- Safety (confided space permits, accident reports, shop inspections, crane inspections, fork lift, etc)(supervisor provides schedule for inspections).
- Quality control (process checklists, receiving and inspection reports)
- Transfer slips.
- Packing slips.
- Counsel notice (initiate form)
Other activities;
- Perform foreman duties at field sites when schedule requires.
- Aid or assist supervisors (as needed) with;
- Bidding or planning of projects.
- Training or education of employees.
- Performance evaluations of employees.
- Maintaining a safe work environment through safety inspections, evaluations, analysis.
- Counseling and discipline by initiating those procedures.
- Mentor employees on day-to-day duties.
