Senior** **Machine Builder**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Machine Builder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in assembling mechanical machine elements and a solid understanding of electrical and pneumatic systems. You will play a pivotal role in the construction and maintenance of industrial automation equipment, ensuring all components and systems are installed and functioning correctly.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assemble mechanical machine elements, from component level up through machine level systems.
+ Install, inspect, and adjust pneumatic cylinders, flow controls, gauges, regulators, robotic grippers, rotary actuators, and pneumatically operated solenoids.
+ Install, inspect, and adjust electrical sensing devices, temperature control devices, proximity switches, reed switches, linear voltage displacement units, electrical clutches, electrical brakes, motors, vibratory inline/bowl controls, servos, coils, and fiber-optic control systems.
+ Install, inspect, and adjust fixtures, slides, bearings, seals, standard and special tooling, vibratory bowls, vibratory in-lines, shocks, and springs.
+ Read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints for the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of components and systems.
+ Manufacture replacement or new fixtures, gages, and tooling made of various metals from blueprints or sketches utilizing an end mill, lathe, grinder, and drill press.
+ Report problems requiring outside assistance to Automation Production Supervisor.
+ Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date technical references that include blueprints, schematics, and data.
+ Coordinate with Automation Production Supervisor for obtaining outside vendor assistance for installation, warranty, and contracted work.
+ Work with other plant personnel as required to support manufacturing, engineering efforts, and daily office business.
+ Assist in the evaluation of new and existing equipment designs.
+ Lead employees involved in the build, including Machine Builders, apprentices, and other personnel.
+ Maintain all paperwork for each build, including purchased component documentation, redline drawings, sketches, and Production Order Job Book.
+ Ensure all drawings are kept up to date in collaboration with Engineering.
+ Travel to customers within the continental United States and occasionally out of the country as required, up to 10-15% of the time.
+ Follow all safety rules and practices.
+ Perform other duties as assigned by Automation Production Supervisor.
**Essential Skills**
+ Ability to train and develop personnel in automation diagnostics and repair.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
+ Skill in manufacturing fixtures, gages, and tooling from blueprints or sketches.
+ Effective communication with supervisors and management.
+ Computer literacy.
+ Completion of a 4-year apprenticeship program or equivalent job experience supplemented by classroom instruction.
+ Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar machine-building environment.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Industrial machinery repair, Tool and Die Maker, or Machinist experience.
+ Electrical panel build and wiring experience.
+ Lead or supervisory experience.
