UES, one of the fastest growing AEC firms in the United States, is seeking a Regional Safety Manager to champion our safety culture and operations across Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. This is a unique opportunity to build upon existing safety systems and drive critical initiatives with widespread influence
As the Regional Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our safety landscape, acting as a key liaison between enterprise initiatives and regional operations. You will be instrumental in developing and managing a robust safety culture and ensuring the well-being of our approximately 530 employees operating a fleet of 400 trucks across 17 branches with a goal of achieving "0" incidents.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage the regional safety program to cultivate a strong safety culture, achieve incident reduction goals, and meet all safety objectives, collaborating directly with regional and branch leadership
Assess effectiveness of safety program activities, policies, and procedures, and work with the UES Corporate Safety Team to implement changes to improve results and achieve objectives
Oversee all aspects of incident management, including leading investigations of work-related injuries, claims management, near misses, and safety complaints, ensuring thorough documentation, reporting, and communication of findings to senior leadership
Develop and deliver comprehensive safety training programs for employees (including driver safety incentive program, Respiratory physical program, new hire onboarding, hazard identification, and emergency protocols)
Lead and organize Regional Safety Committees to drive continuous process improvement and best practice communication, and attend required safety meetings for contractors and/or clients as needed
Maintain and update all required safety documentation, including OSHA 300 logs and third-party vendor safety reporting systems, providing project-specific documentation as requested by stakeholders
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Risk Management or business OR equivalent amount of experience
5+ years experience as a Safety Officer/Director in construction or related field in a multi-entity environment
Previous experience in safety consulting, risk management, or a related role
Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
OSHA 30 Certification, CSP (Certified Safety Professional), or other relevant credentials
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
Computer skills sufficient to operate a laptop and cell phone, including sending and receiving emails, prepare and present PowerPoint Presentations, and learn Deltek VantagePoint software
Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and time management skills
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, construction teams, and other employees of the organization
Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices
Analytical skills for identifying risks and creating solutions
Ability to train and educate diverse teams effectively
Proficiency in safety software and tools
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment
Ability to work weekends, holidays, overtime, overnight and travel as needed
Physical Demands & Work Environment
This position primarily operates in a professional office environment, requiring the ability to work at a desk for extended periods while using a computer, phone, and standard office equipment.
The position involves sitting for extended periods, performing data entry, and engaging in frequent communication via email, phone, and in-person interactions.
The role involves regular communication with team members, clients, and stakeholders, both in person and through virtual platforms.
The physical demands of the job may include occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting of office materials up to 15 pounds.
