The Opportunity: As a Hydrographic Sr. Surveyor, for our Offshore Energy Division you will lead a team of surveyors in conducting detailed surveys of underwater environments. Your primary goal is to ensure the accurate collection, analysis, and interpretation of data related to the physical features of bodies of water to support safe navigation, marine construction, and environmental protection.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-survey planning meetings with project managers, resident engineers, and contractor representatives
- Provide technical advice on hydrographic matters to clients and stakeholders
- Plan survey operations to take account of vessel(s) operational and environmental capabilities and limitations
- A full appreciation of the survey deliverables is required so that on completion of a project, all data will be backed up and submitted to the Project Manager/Onshore team in the agreed formats
- Utilize specialized equipment such as multi-beam echo sounders and GPS systems to collect accurate data
- Supervise survey operations always ensuring safe working practices and with due regard to contract requirements, scope of work, procedures, and regulations
- Effectively communicate with Vessel Management Team, Bridge Team, and client representatives offshore
- Compile operational/field reporting in a concise manner and in accordance with project procedures, client specifications and company procedures
- Maintain efficient stock control
- Effectively address vessel operation and management issues
- Statutory regulations affecting radio frequencies and expertise to ensure compliance with such regulations.
- Data acquisition, processing, presentation, and management systems
- Keep the team working and living together in harmony.
- Implement and develop company emergency procedures.
- Implement hazard identification and risk assessment control measures.
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
- A bachelors degree in engineering, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant industry experience or military/academic experience in survey related discipline, including relevant management experience
- Satisfactory completion of competence criteria for Senior Surveyor, Senior Survey Engineer, Senior Geophysicist or Senior Data Processor
- Nominally 48 months experience, including 300 operational days offshore as Senior Surveyor, Senior Survey Engineer, Senior Geophysicist or Senior Data Processor
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is essential
- Must have or be able to obtain all industry required certificates to work offshore
- Must be able to obtain a valid passport and/or visas to travel internationally in countries the company operates in.
