What we are looking for:

Technical Professionals Group (TPG) is seeking a motivated, dependable, and safe Automotive Technician \/ Fleet Supervisor to support driver training vehicle repairs in Wittmann, AZ. Successful candidate will be a team oriented, dependable technician performing both basic and advanced duties within a world class proving ground environment.

The ideal candidate will have shop leadership experience, either as a team lead or foreman. You must keep safety as number one, show the ability and willingness to learn, and be detail oriented.

Job Responsibilities\/Requirements:

  • Perform multi-point inspections, diagnose and repair all automotive systems.
  • Repair automotive systems, including drivetrain, steering and suspension, hydraulic brake systems, air-conditioning, all in accordance with proving ground standards.
  • Maintain and take ownership of a fleet of roughly 75 vehicles used for driver training classes.
  • Toyota\/Lexus experience a plus.
  • Learn and teach new methods and procedures.
  • Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment
  • Quality over quantity mindset.
  • Track, maintain, and budget for a fleet of vehicles.
  • Must have an open mind, good attitude, and be willing to take on additional responsibilities as required from time to time
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have 6+ years of experience as a professional technician in all areas of light truck and car repair.
  • Must be able to manage a fleet of vehicles (within a budget) and ensure they are in excellent condition for the next class they will be used in.
  • Needs to be a strong communicator, able to convey important information to co-workers, superiors, and contractors.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft office and technologically savvy.
  • Requires excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.
  • Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment
  • Detail oriented mindset.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • Associate's degree in automotive technology (or similar) preferred
  • Bachelor's degree a plus
  • Garage\/Shop\/Fleet leadership experience required
  • Able to work cooperatively in a diverse and challenging environment
  • Previous 6+ years of auto mechanic\/technician experience required

Physical and Environmental Job Requirements

  • Sitting, standing, bending, stopping, reaching, twisting, pushing, carrying, and lifting items of 50 lbs. or more

  • Prolonged routine sitting for 2 or more hours

  • Must be able to work in adverse weather conditions; dusty, hot weather

  • Ability to perform essential job functions in an environment with varied noise levels

  • Important Items:

Safety Sensitive position requiring all persons assigned to activity be drug free and able to successfully pass a drug screen.
