Summary: The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for assisting theirassigned Project Manager in the planning, management direction, projectcompletion, client satisfaction, and financial outcome of assigned constructionprojects. The ideal candidate will be required to assist their assigned ProjectManager in coordinating all contractual requirements, design drawings, andproject specifications that include, but not limited to:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Handle all paperwork and coordination for assigned projectsAssist in pre-construction planningProcess submittals for approval and maintain submittal status reportIssue RFI's to the Architect/Owner for review & approval, then distributeresponse to all involved partiesPrepare and follow up on change ordersAward change order work to subsNegotiate, award, and draft subcontracts & purchase ordersCommunicate and execute all procurement needs on a timely basis.Prepare and follow up on client invoicesApprove subcontractor requests for paymentMonitor the project's trade specific schedule and submittal logReview schedule with superintendent and identify lead times on materialdeliveries, critical path activities, or delays that may impact overall scheduleDistribute sketches, shop drawings, submittals, schedules and punch lists tosubcontractor and site superintendentCost tracking for sequential costingJob Cost AnalysisDevelop and manage subcontractor and supplier relationsAttend weekly subcontractor and owner meetingsProcess accounting documentation in conjunction with corporate office.Inspect and examine construction site and field conditions to identifyproblem, potential problems and as well as identify cost saving measureKeep all parties informed on issues that could affect the project andpropose possible solutions

Education/Experience

Bachelor of Science of Construction Management or Engineering degree(preferably civil engineering)Candidates must be interested in pursuing a career in construction projectmanagementComputer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, Project, HCSS Heavy Bid &Heavy Job is preferredMotivated and capable of overseeing several projects simultaneouslyConflict resolution skillsExceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills requiredStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work with and managecross-functional teams
