Summary

The Estimator for Power (Transmission and Distribution) specializes in preparing cost estimates for electrical infrastructure projects, including high voltage transmission lines and distribution systems. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical engineering principles, materials, and construction processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed cost estimates for electrical transmission and distribution projects.
  • Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and proposals to assess project requirements.
  • Coordinate with engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical data.
  • Assess potential risks and incorporate risk analysis into project estimates.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety codes in all estimates.
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive bid documents.
  • Provide support in negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, especially related to transmission and distribution.
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and technical skills.
  • Experience with estimating software and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work on multiple projects.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating electrical transmission and distribution projects.
