Job Description Summary

This position supports the Assistant and/or Chief Engineer and Sr. Facilities Manager in the day-to-day maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all building systems and equipment on behalf of the client. The Engineer will accurately and perform timely routine operation, inspection, maintenance, and repairs all HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment, and systems in assigned facilities to obtain the most efficient operating results and life expectancy. Can include HVAC, boiler, heating, refrigeration, water, and energy systems to ensure the effective operation of the client facility.

Position assures that equipment is being maintained in an energy-efficient and safe manner, and downtime is reduced to a minimum by anticipation of necessary repairs and maintaining records of past operating experiences. Performs inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including walls and flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, lighting, etc. The Engineer will perform at the highest of ethical standards, reflecting the core values of C&W as defined in its Business Code of Conduct, Policies and Procedures Manual, and other related company policies.

This is a non-supervisory/ hourly / non-exempt role

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Building Engineer with strong Commercial HVAC experience to support multiple client sites across the city. This role requires a valid driver's license and the ability to travel between locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance and major repairs on commercial HVAC systems, including compressors, coils, pumps, and controls.

  • Operate and maintain boilers, chillers, air handlers, and building automation systems (BAS).

  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC-related electrical and plumbing systems.

  • Conduct site inspections, respond to emergencies, and ensure optimal building performance.

  • Maintain inventory, document work, and recommend improvements to maintenance programs.

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in commercial HVAC maintenance and repair.

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, BAS, electrical, and plumbing systems.

  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school or apprenticeship preferred.

  • Universal EPA 608 certification required.

  • Valid driver's license

  • Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, mobile apps).

Work Environment:

  • Mobile role covering multiple commercial sites; may require shift work, on-call availability, and occasional emergency response.

The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
