Essential Duties/Responsbilities:
Performs all duties and activities in a manner that conforms to site specific safety requirements, company policy, state and federal regulations.
- Operate mobile equipment in safe manner following training and guidelines
- Work to close tolerances to specific grade following markings, grade stakes or hand signals
- Meet or exceed production standards
- Perform pre-shift and maintain oil and fluid levels
- Perform minor repairs on equipment using grease gun, oil can, or hand tools
- Other assigned duties
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Understanding of hydraulics
- Know the Safe Job Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures and applicable rules and regulations.
Working Environment/Physical Abilities:
This position requires the operator to possess the dexterity (refer to Physical Abilities) to work and oeprate machinery and equipment. The operator must constantly be attentive to the changing geological conditions and surrounding environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
Education, Qualifications and Training:
- WV Surface Certificate
- Annual 8 hour refresher training
- 3-5 years on -the-job experience
- Vocational Training (optional)
- Other qualifications as required by contract, regulations, and/or management
