Job Title: Electrical/Controls Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Electrical/Controls Tech with a strong background in the electrical field, particularly in panel building and testing of electrical equipment. This position involves testing 600-volt battery backup enclosures to ensure their functionality and durability, as well as troubleshooting any issues that may arise.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct testing on 600-volt batteries to assess functionality and durability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues identified during testing.
  • Build and set up electrical panels and boxes.
  • Perform electrical testing, which can be taught as part of the role.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics accurately.
  • Potentially transition to a Level 2 role involving PLC editing and modification, depending on experience.
  • Collaborate with Senior Controls Technicians and Engineers.
  • Utilize any panel design experience as an added advantage.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in panel building and testing of electrical equipment.
  • Proficiency in schematic design and interpretation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Experience with PLC programming and modification.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of recent electrical, controls, or panel technician experience.
  • Previous experience in the electrical field or manufacturing where the equipment or product has electrical systems, wiring, etc.
  • Automation experience highly preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Effective communication skills for documenting and reporting findings.
  • Any experience in panel design is considered a plus.

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with likely opportunities for overtime.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr.
