The SeniorElectro-Mechanical Technician will conduct various types of inspections and assemblies and test, troubleshoot, and document tasks on complex ultrasound systems in a warehouse/operations environment.
The Senior Electro-Mechanical Technician is responsible for conducting various inspection, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation tasks in a warehouse/operations environment. Under the general supervision of the operations manager, this position also performs and plans, organizes, directs, and reviews the work of assigned staff members who perform operations, maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
The Senior Electro-Mechanical Technician will:
Perform electro-mechanical assembly and disassembly (Systems, Host Controllers, multi-system rack, back-shell kits, circuit board assemblies, etc.)
Test transducers and terminate transducer cables
Hardware testing, software testing, Windows and Linux environments
Perform incoming and outgoing inspection tests
Maintain and troubleshoot the wide range of hardware used throughout Verasonics
Follow testing instructions and assembly documentation precisely
Maintain system travelers (every system has a hard copy system traveler; any changes to configuration will be updated to the system traveler and digitally on Salesforce)
Reference mechanical and electrical drawings/schematics with a general understanding
Create instructions for Field Service and internal training
Assist with ESD monitoring and maintenance
Clean and maintain work area, which includes cleaning ESD floor, keeping clean and ESD compliant work benches, and taking out recycling and garbage
Label incoming material and products as needed and update through Salesforce
Assist with shipping and receiving, boxing and packing, assembling product for shipment
Move inventory through correct processes and ensure it starts and ends in the right location
Troubleshoot and collect data for engineers
Required:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in at least 3 of the following areas: Windows environments, hardware testing, software testing, and electromechanical assembly and disassembly. An equivalent combination of education and experience can be substituted to meet these requirements
Must be detail & deadline-oriented and extremely reliable
Ability to provide direction, analyze, record results, and prepare written documentation
Possess outstanding verbal and written English communication skills, and is able to follow verbal and/or written instructions to a T without improvising or deviating
Technical capacity and demonstrated initiative with asking questions and learning along the way; problem-solving/analysis skills
Exceptional organizational, keyboard, and document management skills
Previous experience training and leading day-to-day tasks for my junior team members
Solid computer literacy
Must be able to lift and transport computers, monitors, and printers up to 60 pounds with or without assistance
Preferred:
Very computer literate, including a solid understanding of MS Office, computer BIOS, computer assembly, and Windows OS., and ability to quickly learn new systems
Experience with PCB layout, MATLAB. Able to work in a potentially customer-facing role in the future
Able to travel for work in the future, if needed
Experience with Salesforce, computer imaging, and inventory management
Able to read a schematic, solder joints, and read/follow a schematic
High-level understanding of circuit board components
