Location: Solihull Position: Estimator Salary: 40,000 - 90,000 (DOE) Contract Type: Full Time Are you a detail-oriented and commercially minded Estimator looking to work on major construction projects within a dynamic and growing company? We're seeking an ambitious professional to join our pre-construction team in Solihull, playing a crucial role in securing new business and shaping competitive, high-quality bids. Role Overview As an Estimator, you'll be responsible for evaluating all costs associated with upcoming construction projectsconsidering materials, labour, equipment, and logistics. You'll work closely with internal departments and external suppliers to deliver accurate, competitive tenders and ensure alignment with quality, safety, and compliance standards. Key Responsibilities Compile accurate and competitive bids for upcoming projects Calculate costs for materials, transport, labour, and equipment hire Source and negotiate quotes from subcontractors and suppliers Build and maintain detailed pricing schedules for each tender Understand and clarify client expectations and project goals Oversee cost tracking and forecasting through the tendering phase Present bids to clients and respond to follow-up queries Assess risk and ensure health & safety requirements are included in cost plans Collaborate with Construction Managers, Planners, and Design Managers Complete quality submissions and documentation Ensure deadlines and performance standards are consistently met Support general estimating duties as requiredIdeal Candidate Profile Previous estimating experience within the construction sector Experience with industrial/logistics projects (advantageous but not essential) Degree in Estimating, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or similar (or currently studying towards) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong numerical and organisational skills Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team Full UK driving licence is desirableBenefits Package 40,000 - 90,000 salary (depending on experience) 25 days annual leave + bank holidays Loyalty leave scheme - additional day after 3 years, plus one extra each year up to 5 Pension scheme - matched up to 6% Private healthcare Life insurance cover Wellbeing support 4:00pm Friday finish Dress-down Fridays Annual summer & Christmas parties Monthly team breakfasts Regular team-building activities Colleague referral bonus scheme Cycle-to-work schemeApply Today If you're ready to bring your estimating expertise to a forward-thinking company based in Solihull, we'd love to hear from you.
