Welder

HPC-Industrial , powered by Clean Harbors, is looking for a Welder/Fitter to join their safety conscious team! This opportunity is based out of the La Porte, TX area. This team member will be responsible for welding, cutting, shaping and assembly of pressure vessels, pressure piping, structural skids and any general steel working required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adhere to company policies, practices, and procedures.
• Performs welding operations as required by job specifications with SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and FCAW.
• Knowledge of raw materials and understands MTRs and electrode classifications.
• Perform pre welding operations with saws, shears, automated cutting equipment for shaping and preparation.
• Understand the use of weld inspection tools and their use.
• Assist in dimensional verification checks.
• Understands basic inspection of welds for discontinuities.
• Performs advanced fabrication, documents measuring, etc.
• Work will require occasional weekend, Holiday, and/or evening work.

QUALIFICATIONS

What does it take to work for HPC-Industrial?

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be 18 years or older
• 1+ Years of related experience;
• Forklift experience preferred (Not Required);
• Ability to use computer;
• Must have completed the 90day probation period.
• Must have completed and demonstrated proficiency in all safety and welding applications.
• Must have completed and passed a 6G test on carbon steel
• Must have the ability to multitask.
• Must possess good mechanical skills.
• Must be able to take directions from others.
• Possess the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Must have a good math aptitude.
• Prior experience working as a welder/fitter
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to operate machine tolls such as drill press, lathe, milling machines and utilizing precision measuring instruments is a plus
• The ability to communicate effectively and utilize computers is also a plus

Physical Requirements:

• The ability to lift up to 60 pounds occasionally.
• The ability to use hand tools for pushing and pulling.
• The ability to work overhead.
• The ability to work safely in a shop environment.
