Join our growing Highway Maintenance team and play a key role in the successful delivery of highway infrastructure, maintenance and construction activities along the Alaska Highway in Northern BC.

This is an opportunity to establish roots in a local community, build strong relationships, and lead a diverse team of highway maintenance professionals committed to keeping our highways safe during Ledcor's 3 year maintenance contract.

In this position you will be responsible for road maintenance in the following areas:

Wonowon
Sikanni Chief
Prophet River
Fort Nelson
Steamboat

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead & Direct Teams Provide overall direction to ensure project goals, safety, and contract schedules are met in
  • Communication & Collaboration Effectively communicate with front-line leaders, ensuring contract requirements are successfully executed
  • Operational Oversight Monitor performance metrics (cost, schedule, safety, quality, environment) and guide teams to achieve them
  • Strategic Planning Assist in schedule development, resource allocation, and execution plans to ensure project success
  • Coaching & Mentorship Support front-line leaders with training and development to enhance team performance
  • Health & Safety Leadership Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with Ledcors HS&E standards and OH&S regulations
  • Budget & Financial Oversight Review financial reports and implement strategies to achieve targets
  • Risk & Compliance Management Ensure contract and regulatory compliance, including collective agreement administration
  • F leet & Asset Management Assist in planning, capital purchases, and implementing improvement strategies for effective asset utilization

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in highway maintenance, infrastructure, bridge maintenance, or construction in a supervisory role
  • Technical training or trade certification in a related field is an asset
  • Experience managing bridge and highway projects is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety, environment, and quality (HSEQ) standards
  • Proven planning, scheduling, and leadership skills
  • Experience with continuous improvement processes (ISO or other management systems) is preferred
  • Understanding of quality management principles (QA/QC)

Work Conditions:

  • Preference for candidates based in Northern BC or Fort Nelson - relocation packages available
  • Work is site based primarily outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Monday to Friday with the expectation to monitor your phone after hours as we to respond to weather events and emergencies
  • Cost of living allowance

Compensation

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
