NL-25-054 Test Design Engineer - Huntsville, AL

nLogic is hiring for a Test Design Engineer to join our team and become part of Space Launch System (SLS) program, located in Huntsville, AL. The applicant will work on site in an avionics lab.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Windchill (APDM), to address drawing and parts list creating and redline changes
  • Design, develop, release, and maintain hardware layouts, parts list, assembly sketches, interconnect diagrams, engineering drawings, system designs, and other engineering documentation
  • Create and update developmental drawings of network rack hardware.
  • Create and maintain schematic drawings and specification documents.
  • Provide general electrical engineering knowledge to assist with design and troubleshooting issues.
  • Reconfigure computer hardware when testing demands it. This involves careful configuration changes of cable connections, adding and removing cards from server computers, and modifying cables when needed.
  • Organize procurement efforts for COTS and custom hardware. Procuring custom hardware involves coordinating with Responsible Engineers (REs), managers, and buyers. Procurement requires careful attention to detail when working with large spreadsheets and regular updates to managers.

Required Qualifications:

  • This position requires the ability to obtain a Customer/NASA background check, which requires US Citizenship.
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering/Engineering, Physics, or other STEM field
  • 5+ years of experience in the "Responsibilities" area
  • Must have strong communication skills and be capable of working in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple activities concurrently. The ability to rapidly pick up new lingo in a new environment is highly valuable here.
  • Must be capable of working with minimal supervision. Employees are encouraged to take ownership and responsibility for projects they are working.
  • The successful applicant is teachable and works with constructive feedback.
  • The applicant must be able to draw key data out of large engineering reports and diagrams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous VISIO experience
  • Previous NASA experience
  • Previous experience working in an avionics lab
  • Experience soldering electronics or making cables
  • Experience with and basic understanding of computer hardware

Education/Experience:

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering/Engineering, Physics, or other STEM field.
  • 5 or more years of experience in the Responsibilities area.

  • Primary Location: Huntsville, AL
  • Work Model: Onsite 100% of the time
  • Travel: Travel is not expected
