Description

Position Summary:

Working with senior RF design engineers, design, develop and test transceiver sub-systems for mission critical public safety communication systems. Test for regulatory compliance and conduct engineering studies to improve performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Working with senior RF design engineers, participate in development of the following RF functional areas:

  • Receiver front ends

  • Zero or Near-Zero IF designs

  • Transmitter power amplifier chains

  • VCO and synthesizers

  • Support regulatory and performance testing

  • Execute test plans and generate documentation to ensure requirements are achieved

  • Use software tools and test equipment to test electronic designs

  • Design, debug and test digital, and analog circuits

  • Support production facilities and interface with the Test Engineers and factory personnel on the testing and production of the products

  • Perform other work-related duties as necessary

Requirements

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong Excel, MS Word, Power Point, skills required
  • Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Very detail-oriented, accurate and organized
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Confidentiality and Time Management

Qualifications:

  • BSEE required
  • Minimum 5 years of RF transceiver design experience
  • Knowledge and/or experience with test equipment and software tools for electronics simulations, design, testing and documentation is also a must.
  • Previous LMR industry experience with: Motorola Solutions, Harris PSPC, EF Johnson, JVC Kenwood or others is a plus.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

  • Work typically takes place in a normal office environment requiring: sitting, walking, lifting, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, and seeing
  • Operate a PC and other office equipment
  • Travel between floors and office buildings may be required
  • Environmental conditions: noise, vibration, oils, solvents, chemicals
